  11. OK, yes I agree we need hardware that can produce 24-bit color
  12. resolution as standard, but there are also ther things I'd like to
  13. see, like built in 16-bit stereo sound, something that sounds as good
  14. as my 8-bit A2000 does, it's sad, but my A2000 sounds better than the
  15. new DX4-120 pc with 16-bit sound. Another thing that Amiga
  16. Technologies should consider is putting some kind of 3d-acceleration
  17. support, preferrably OpenGL-compatible 3d-acceleration, ON THE
  18. MOTHERBOARD for top-of-the-line systems. If you think this isn't
  19. possible, keep in mind the 3d graphics subsystem for the Nintendo
  20. Ultra 64 IS OpenGL compatible...... and the Playstation is damn
  21. close...

  23. We also need OS support for some type of integrated audio-video
  24. format, be it .avi, .mpg, .mov or whatever.

  26. Multiprocessor support is also something that should be considered.
  27. Windows NT has it, Copeland will have it, why can't AmigaDOS 4.0?

  29. If they want to keep up in the graphics market, then they need to be
  30. thinking things like this. I run a small computer graphics studio, and
  31. we're about to make the jump into an actual office instead of working
  32. over modem and telephone from everyone's home. I confronted myself
  33. with the choice of waiting on PowerPC-based Amigas, or going to the
  34. 'Industry Standard' and spending my entie computer budget on 3 SGI
  35. workstations. Right now we plan on 6 A4000T '060s and 1 Draco NLE, and
  36. the A4000Ts will be upgraded to PPC 604s as soon as they are
  37. available. Come on, Dr. Kittel. Don't make this a bad choice.
